Adding one to your family

This was our response to an email question we got.

Yes these little ones are very close to us and we love keeping in touch with them as they adventure out into the world with their new owners.

We can understand your concern about adding another little one to your home. In our experience it is in the end excepted with open arms, but ultimately it is all on how consistent you are in the meetings. If it is done over a month ( which is easy to do with a puppy, because they should be restricted to a room or very small space while they get us to you and you to them. Also easier to potty train them.) with a few minutes each day slowly increasing it each week. This is best done after you have exercised the one or ones you've already had. Then you have to remember that it is you that is in charge and if you take that roll from the beginning it will be much easier on everyone and it will go much smoother. Remember, dogs are use to being in a "pack" and having more than one around is very normal. It is us that has continued to changed that normal behavior in them. It is not as hard to do as you would think too add ones to the family when you do it slowly, it usually goes pretty smooth. Again, if you are consistent.

Best decision I ever made, buying a puppy from the Edwards. Our Lucy smelt very clean and looked healthy. Not to mention the Puppy starter bag. Great deal for a pet we can have in our home.
We'll keep in touch. X-mas will be coming. Look out for pictures of her.

When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?'

I just wanted to say that we adopted Recee and she is just a sweet sweet baby. Kevin and Tina kept us informed of her antics before we met them and got our new fur child. She is everything they said she was and then some. We can not say enough about Keving and Tina and the puppies they bring into this world....They are great people who are honest and caring about each and every puppy and dog they own and sell. If we ever decide to get another Dachshund (which one day we will) we will definatly get it from them. So if you are looking for a quality bred, sweet and loved puppy they are the ones you need to get one from. Recee is perfect. Thanks ya'll. :) Lisa and Howard

Bailey has been in our family for 1 week already and we could not imagine our lives without her. She is so full of energy but after she plays for a while she is ready to snuggle in her blanket and take a 'power' nap. From the first day we brought her home she has used her puppy pad, Kevin and Tina have done an amazing job with her. We can tell she has been worked with and loved. Thank you to her first parents for loving her and letting her come into our lives. She is such a blessing:)

We purchased our new family member from the Edwards today. The little girl we adopted is beautiful and adjusting well. We look forward to a blossoming relationship with our other mini Doxie. Thanks you for a great experience for my family!

We've had Bascom since June 1 and we couldn't be more pleased. It's obvious he came from breeders who love what they are doing and have excellent dogs. He has a great disposition and is very affectionate. He loves to play and is really starting to keep our female active. They have adjusted to each other very well. If I ever get permission to have another I know where I'll go (I would have bought the entire litter if my wife had not been there)!

We purchased Polly (now Winnie) in June of 2012. She is healthy and beautiful. Kevin and Tina must take such good care of the new babies. Winnie has the best temperament. We are very pleased with our little girl and can't thank Kevin and Tina enough for such a pretty sweetheart.

Wow---what an awesome experience! We lost our Jack Russell some time back and it was time to get a new puppy. We looked around on the website, came across Edwards Extraordinary Dachshunds and the rest is history! Kevin and Tina have been so supportive, helpful, kind, and giving of their time. We could not have asked for a better breeder of these precious animals. They answered all our questions, and gave us tips on what and what not to do. All one has to do is peruse the website and email Kevin to see that THESE ANIMALS ARE THEIR LIFE! And they love each and every dog and puppy in their care.
If you are looking for a miniature dachshund for your family do not look anywhere else, these are your people.

We purchased Sara, an adult dog, from Kevin & Tina and couldn't be happier. She is such a joy to have and the Edward's are wonderful people. They raised her from a puppy under their own roof and it shows. She was used to being loved and handled which made her transition into our family so easy. Thanks Kevin & Tina, we will keep in touch!

We are the very lucky family that Alice agreed to adopt! She seems to have all the personality that Kevin & Tina said. They were great and took care of all the details needed. Alice fits right in with our other dachshund, Greta (sharing a bed as we speak!) So glad to have her with us! She's such a tiny puppy but filling a big space in our hearts!

We got a new fur child from Kevin and Tina. She is our second one from them. Our 1st fur child was Recee and she is Abby (our new one) 1/2 sister. Kevin and Tina kept me posted on Abby and she is everything and more of what they told us about her. She is just as sweet as Recee and just as spunky. Kevin and Tina really do breed their fur babies for not just beauty but great personalities in the puppies. Thank you again Kevin and Tina for our little Abby and of course Recee

If you are considering a mini dachshund addition to your family, then I highly recommend contacting Kevin and Tina Edwards. " We are officially, the proud family of little Parker!" After our older mini dachshund passed last year, we decided it was time to look for another,.. this time we decided on a puppy. I had searched breeders in our area but had no luck with trying to obtain a puppy within a certain time frame. They seem to be a popular breed and are scooped up pretty quick. (so don't wait too long)... We had such a great experience the fist time, we're back again for another. As I was searching, I came across many breeders in other states..... when all of a sudden, I came upon "Edwards Extraordinary Dachshunds".
I was very impressed with how their website was put together (very professional) and how very informative it was. You can tell that this is their passion and how much they love this particular breed.

For anyone looking to adopt out of state, these are the people you want to work with! I was a bit nervous taking this route,...but from the very beginning of the process, to the moment little "Parker" was in our hands, everything was handled with the utmost care and compassion. Kevin, constantly communicated with me on all levels and was very accomodating. Both he and Tina took great care in preparing "Parker " for his journey to Upstate New York. I had so many questions and concerns and Kevin put me at ease, encouraging me to email or call anytime.

It's hard to believe that we now have "Parker" our new little man in the house. He has already stolen our hearts with his zest for life, the love gives and the happiness he's brought to all of us!

Thank you Kevin and Tina, for the love and committment you put into breeding these wonderful dachshunds, so that others may be touched by the love, joy and happiness they bring into a home!

My experience was exactly what you explained. We lost our Sparky in May after 17.8 years and looking for another black and tan baby. I could not find any in my area that I liked. I came across their website and thought they had the best looking puppies ever! We prayed about it and took a leap of faith and so glad we did. I found that Kevin was really responsive to every question. The 2500 mile plan ride to his new home was perfectly planned, weather and Delta airlines. He arrived safely in our arms and our house will never be the same. He has brought us all such joy, including Zoe our other dog who thinks he is a play toy! The Ronbeck Famly

We found Kevin and Tina through their website and Facebook. It was their beautiful puppies that attracted me to go to their site nd look further. We ended up selecting one of Sadies pups. They all looked so healthy and happy. We had Sidney flown to its new home all the way to WA State. Kevin and Tina did a wonderful job preparing their baby for its first great adventure. First time we saw Sidney it was love at first site.

You can tell he has been handled with love and care. It has only been a week in our home and he knows how to do his business on the potty pad. You can tell they worked with him over the last three weeks. Kevin provided some helpful hints in Hush the dog when it is locked up in the laundry room which worked right away.

We could not be more pleased and would recommend them as a breeder of fine little puppies. He has adjusted well in just one week. Thank you from our family for all the love and care you give to your babies. It show's and we are so very happy to have Sidney as the new addition to our family!

I will never be able to express how much Jake means to me. I lost my Duncan in an accident and with the support of my family found Jake. I truly didn't think he could fill Duncan's shoes but boy has he!!
Jake is now 2 and the canine love of my life. I am a former special education teacher, now principal, and for his first year and a half took him to school with me. He was therapy for my students and as it turned out the entire school! As a result Jake is so well socialized and friendly he is a joy to take places. He has stayed in many hotel rooms for our horse shows, as a matter of fact many exhibitors know him!
He is smart, smart, SMART! He has been trained to the puppy pads and never makes a mistake, but will go outside when need be such as when we are camping.
I could go on for days about what a wonderfully bred puppy/dog he is, his conformation is impeccable and he is truly the SOFTEST dog I have ever owned! I expected it to go away after he matted but it has not.
I am forever grateful I found Edward and Tina and will be back in 20 years for our next dog baby!!
